At 10 months old we started to notice Zach wasn’t reaching milestones as he should. After a long journey with doctors, therapists, countless blood tests & urine samples we finally found Dr Lana Bell who shared our concerns. We started to investigate further and in July, 2016 our beautiful, smiling boy was diagnosed with Pitt Hopkins Syndrome. At the time of diagnosis there were only approximately 500 cases world wide with only 8 cases in Australia. “Pitts” is associated with profound delays across speech, gross motor, fine motor and cognitive development. It also comes with medical risks such as seizures, hyperventilation, breath holding and servere GI issues. At present to date Zach hasn’t presented with these medical issues but this can not be guaranteed as he gets older.

Since 10 months of age, Zach has been in weekly Physiotherapy sessions, Speech and OT. Never resting and searching for answers, we discovered the NAPA Center. They run intensive, 3 week programs focused on technology that is only available at the NAPA Center. As Zach is learning important life skills such walking and communication we would love to have the opportunity to take him to Sydney for the block of treatment and thats where we would be so appreciative of YOUR help! A block of therapy costs between $7,000 – $10,000 exclusive of associated travel costs.

So please, from the bottom of our hearts, dig deep for our little hero and help us send him to the NAPA center where we fight for a better tomorrow. We need to raise $10,000 to cover the cost of NAPA so if a spot becomes available we can quickly accept that position!
